I am happy to talk to anyone about their story, any time, but I focus on books that deal with some element of identity and social justice.
More specifically, I’m always looking for projects that fit into these categories:
Personal essays, memoirs, and theory-focused books that address, question, or complicate gender, sexuality, or relationships (I’m especially interested in books that reframe or reimagine masculinity/masculinities from any perspective, and any stories about the trans experience)
Work by anyone who comes from or was trained in academia and now wants to write for a broader audience (especially those in the social sciences and humanities who want to make their academic work do social justice, community building, or activist work)
Stories, essays, and theory about identity and personality, especially from a transformational perspective (especially people thinking about “the self” or identity from a new point of view, or who want to tell a personal story about transformation)
Critical readings of the medical or wellness/fitness industries (not necessarily criticisms, but definitely critical readings—especially stories that intersect with gender or other issues listed here)
Personal perspectives on incarceration, the justice system, and/or rehabilitative justice (especially stories that include issues of gender or identity)
